This Privacy Policy explains how we, as the developer of PDF Master Home(referred to as “we,” “us,” or “the Developer”), collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application (package name:com.pdfmaster.home.pro, collectively referred to as the “App”). We are committed to safeguarding your privacy while providing the file relevant function such as PDF reading and editing. This policy may be updated periodically, so please check back regularly for changes.
PDF Master Home is designed as both a PDF reader and an Android launcher application. The app allows users to open and view PDF documents, and it also offers optional launcher functionality that can be used as a device Home screen experience. Users may decide whether or not to set the app as their default Home app, and this setting can be modified at any time through Android system settings.
As the Data Controller, I determine the purposes and means of processing your personal data.
We collect only the data necessary to provide and improve the App’s functionality. Here’s what we collect and why:
We do not collect: Sensitive personal information including your name, email address, financial details, biometric data, or precise geolocation unless explicitly provided by you for file relevant functions.
We use a third-party attribution and analytics service, [Adjust], to measure advertising effectiveness, perform anti-fraud checks, and generate aggregated usage statistics. This service may independently process certain device and network information (such as device model, operating system version, IP address, and advertising identifiers), along with app installation and launch events.
Important:
For more information about how Adjust processes data, please refer to their Privacy Policy (https://www.adjust.com/terms/privacy-policy).
Where possible, your data is stored and processed anonymously. We cannot personally identify you except through File Access Permission (for file relevant functions) or device type (for crash reports).
User information collected through our Service is stored and processed using Google Firebase, which provides secure infrastructure for data storage. We implement SSL encryption during data transmission and utilize AES encryption to protect the content from unauthorized access or disclosure. The data is stored on secure, access-controlled servers managed by Firebase.
We apply commercially reasonable safeguards to protect user information and take steps such as requiring a unique password to verify user identity before granting account access. However, please understand that no system can guarantee absolute security. We cannot ensure or warrant the complete security of any information transmitted via the service or stored within it, nor can we guarantee that such information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed due to a breach.
Storage Duration:
User data is not retained on our servers beyond the period necessary for service functionality.
We encourage users to take responsibility for the confidentiality of their login credentials, including passwords and email communications. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your account information and controlling access to communication between you and the Service. We are not responsible for the security practices of third-party services.
Deletion of User Information
If a user deletes their account from the Service, all associated user data, including account information and user-generated content, will be deleted immediately in principle from our systems. This deletion is permanent and irreversible-restoration of user data after account deletion will not be possible.
Please ensure you have backed up any important information before initiating account deletion.
Location Information
Our app does not collect or access your location information. However, some third-party SDKs integrated into the app may automatically collect certain device information, including approximate location data, as part of their services. We do not control the collection, use, or sharing of location data by these third-party SDKs. For information on how these third parties handle your data, please refer to their respective privacy policies.
We rely on trusted third-party services to deliver the App’s functionality:
Google LLC acts as our processor. Where data is transferred outside your region, we rely on safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (for participating entities) and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), as applicable.
Advertising & Consent (EEA/UK)
Where required by law, we obtain your consent for personalized ads using a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) (e.g., Google User Messaging Platform). You can change your choices at any time in the app or system settings. If you opt-out, you may still see ads, but they won’t be personalized.
Note: We do not control third-party privacy practices. Please review their policies for more details.
You have rights over your data, including:
How to Exercise Your Rights
To provide you with real-time updates and ensure timely notifications for important events such as file uploads, conversions, and app updates, we request permission to send notifications to your device. These notifications will be relevant to your usage of the app and will enhance your overall experience. Your notification preferences can be managed at any time through your device settings. Rest assured, we will never use this permission for any unsolicited or non-functional notifications.
Our app requires access to the files on your device to enable you to view, manage, and edit your documents, including PDFs, Word files, and other supported formats. This permission allows the app to read the files on your device, facilitating efficient file management and document conversion. We do not collect any personal or sensitive information from your files, and your data will remain private and secure. You can revoke this permission at any time through your device’s settings, and the app will continue to function with limited access.
The documents and files you open, view, edit or manage in this app are processed locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit or store the content of your files on our servers or send it to any third party. File names, file content and detailed document information remain on your device and are used only to provide core features such as viewing, editing, converting and managing your documents.
The app will only share a file or its content when you explicitly choose to do so (for example, when you use the system share function or upload a document to a third-party app or cloud service). In such cases, the processing of your data is governed by the privacy policies of those third-party services, not by this app.
Our app requests access to your device’s camera solely to provide document scanning features. When you choose to use the scan function, the camera is used to capture images of physical documents (such as papers, receipts, contracts or notes) so that we can crop, enhance and convert them into PDF files.
We do not use the camera for any purpose unrelated to these features. The app does not use camera access for facial recognition, identity verification, behavior tracking, or targeted advertising. Images captured through the camera are only processed to generate or improve your documents and are not accessed or collected for any other hidden use.
You are free to deny or revoke camera permission at any time in your device settings. However, if you disable this permission, the scan-related features (such as scanning to PDF) may not function properly, while other features of the app that do not rely on camera access will remain available where possible.
The core function of the Launcher is to display and manage all of the user's applications, therefore it is necessary to obtain the list of applications installed on the device. Specific uses include:
If you’re in the UK or EEA:
The App is not designed for children under 13. If we discover we’ve collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this policy as needed. Changes will be posted within the App or via email (if provided). Significant changes requiring consent will prompt renewed approval.
